How Cities Can Use Participatory Budgeting to Address Climate Change
/We are facing a global climate crisis, and local governments need to do their part to address it. Public participation is a key strategy for effective local climate action. By integrating climate action into participatory processes (and vice versa), cities can build consensus around the need for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and around concrete projects and policies to implement.
For this course, People Powered has developed and compiled the resources to help you to engage more community members in addressing climate change, together. You will find an online course where experts from local governments and organizations around the world share best practices and review lessons learned and a short and accessible info sheet that provides actionable recommendations on how to successfully implement a climate-sensitive PB process. Additionally, we offer a free mentorship program where experts will help you to address challenges you can come across while you are using PB to address climate change.
