Pauliina Lehtonen

Pauliina Lehtonen is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Tampere Centre for Societal Sustainability, Tampere University. Her background is in urban studies, media and communication studies.

Pauliina's work concentrates on public engagement, urban governance, democracy and media technology. She is especially interested in co-producing knowledge, developing practices of public engagement and encouraging social inclusion in participatory democracy. She wants to participate in developing sustainable and socially inclusive urban environments.  

Currently, Pauliina studies participatory budgeting as a democratic innovation in different socio-cultural contexts, such as Finland, Poland and the United Kingdom. Methodologically, she has expertise in qualitative research and participatory methods.

She enjoys doing research in the field and to collaborate with people.
