Calling all web developers, civic tech writers, and participation technology experts! At People Powered, we’re looking for experienced contractors to develop an interactive online playbook, write a guide on digital participation platforms, and set up a digital participation platform for our organization. Website Developer for Participation Playbook
You’re a web developer who will create an accessible and user-friendly interactive online guide for planning participatory democracy programs. The Participation Playbook will help policy-makers and advocates make the key decisions necessary to successfully launch and implement participatory democracy programs. It will guide users through planning and design questions, choices, and considerations, to enable them to choose models and approaches that work for their context and needs. The playbook will be a free public resource that will serve as a core tool in People Powered’s mentorship program and partnerships with other organizations, to help launch and improve equitable participatory programs around the world.
Budget: Maximum $80,000
Writer for Digital Participation Platforms Guide
You’re a writer and content developer with relevant experience on digital platforms for public participation and a track record of publications for advocates and policy-makers. You will write content for an accessible and user-friendly online guide on digital participation platforms. The guide will be a free public online resource that will help policy-makers select and use digital participation platforms to engage residents. It will also be used for generating an annual rating and comparison of recommended platforms.
Budget: Maximum $15,000
Configuration and Technical Support for a Digital Participation Platform
You will install, configure, and support a digital participation platform for our organizational decision-making. Since 2019, we have built governance processes that enable the global community of participatory democracy organizations and advocates to decide on funding and policies, to address collective needs. In 2021 we plan to use a digital participation platform to better support decision-making, with external support. You will partner with us to model a new approach for participatory global governance, and to model participation technology for our member organizations.
Budget: Maximum $20,000
