Participatory budgets in the local world of Catalonia

Analysis and examples of participatory budgeting methodologies in Catalonia, Spain, providing local authorities with a tool for designing quality processes.

This publication is the result of the creation of a space, by the Coexistence, Diversity and Citizen Participation Service of Catalonia, for the exchange of experiences and collaborative learning between municipalities (both Catalan and European) that have promoted participatory budgets the last few years.

It also incorporates the reflections of experts from various universities and the European Union who have contributed their knowledge from a more academic point of view. The aim of the publication is to make available to local bodies in Catalonia and beyond a tool that allows them to design quality participatory budgeting processes.
