National Survey on Climate Change 2021 (ENCC)

A report on the results of the 2021 national survey in Costa Rica on citizen perception of climate change.

Amongst its findings, 97% of the population believes that climate change is occurring, and 82% affirms that the climate crisis should be a high priority for people in positions of power. However, there is a lack of mobilization/interest in citizen-led climate action, as well as a lack of understanding of the disproportionate effects climate change has on vulnerable communities, such as women.
