Interview with Yves Cabannes, international expert in participatory budgeting. 

Interview conducted by the Centre d'Écologie Urbaine de Montreal in April 2012. Yves Cabannes is professor and responsible for the Chair of Development Planning at University College London. From 1997 until December 2003 he was regional coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Urban Management Program (UNDP / UN Habitat) He worked for 10 years in Brazil with various NGOs, popular movements and governments local. In this interview he addresses questions such as What is the participatory budget?, What are the motivations for creating participatory budgets? and What are the main pitfalls to avoid?
