Louise Caldwell, Co-Secretary

Louise is a communications and business development professional who also served as a member of the Irish Citizens’ Assembly from 2016 to 2018. The assembly’s recommendations led to the legalization of abortion.
Louise has decades of experience in marketing, management and engagement for diverse institutions. She holds degrees in business, public relations, digital marketing and workplace wellness from Dublin City University and Trinity College-Dublin.
Since her involvement in the Irish Citizens’ Assembly, Louise has become an advocate for participatory and deliberative processes as a mechanism for empowerment and social justice. She has written and spoken about her experience widely across a broad range of international media, such as The Guardian and the BBC.
Louise has been invited to speak and contribute to many forums, including the Electoral Reform Society of Scotland, the Electoral Reform Society of England, the Scotland Citizens’ Assembly and the Women's Equality Party (United Kingdom).
