Oma Stadi Helsinki
/A website that presents information about Helsinki's Participatory Budgeting process, including dates of meetings, instructions to participate, and status of selected projects.
OmaStadi is Helsinki’s way of doing participatory budgeting. Helsinki uses €4.4 million annually for realising ideas developed by the residents of the city.
The total budget is divided between major districts in proportion to population. Twenty per cent of the sum is reserved for realising plans that benefit the entire City. The city residents brainstorm and draw up plans using the OmaStadi.hel.fi site as a tool, and then they vote for their favorite projects. Through this website you can follow the implementation of the projects.
