Assemblies as a tool for just democracy

This report outlines how social movements and citizens’ assemblies can be combined as ‘Movement Assemblies’ to help community power-building organizations and coalitions build capacity, power and political clarity.

This resource explores the potential for the assembly format to be blended with social movements to serve as a more radical approach to democratization. It explores different models of assemblies, focusing specifically on different types of movement assemblies and policy assemblies, and considers how these formats can be institutionalized and strengthened.
