Our organization is growing! We’re seeking a people and operations manager, climate democracy associate and communications associate to help us build participatory democracy around the world. People and Operations Manager
You are a people person who thrives at building organizational systems and cultures that support happy, healthy and effective teams. You have at least three years of experience leading management and operations work for nonprofit or nongovernmental organizations, and you excel at team-building, problem-solving and project management. You keep systems running day to day, while seeking ways to improve them. The position builds on a strong foundation of organizational management and performance, with well-developed internal systems and staff support.
Climate Democracy Associate
The climate democracy associate will support our capacity-building programs and resources focused on climate change. You will develop content for the People Powered website, tools, training courses, mentorship program and learning activities; support the implementation of training and accelerator programs; and help governments and organizations around the world launch participatory programs that address the climate crisis.
Communications Associate
You are an organized and tech-savvy communicator who has a flair for conceiving and creating digital content that attracts attention and amplifies priority messages. You know how to tease actionable findings from data and how to support diverse colleagues in researching and producing content. This position is ideal for rising stars in communications and multimedia production who are fluent in English and proficient with some combination of skills in email marketing, social media, website management and graphic design.

People Powered is a global hub for participatory democracy. Our mission is to expand people’s power to make government decisions, by supporting organizations and governments that are building participatory democracy around the world. We’re like a global union for participatory democracy workers.
Participatory democracy enables community members to make the policy decisions that affect their lives, together with government officials. In practice, this takes place through programs such as participatory budgeting, participatory policymaking, participatory planning and citizen assemblies. We support this work by sharing and developing resources, building the capacity of local organizations and leaders, and advocating for policy changes. We focus on supporting organizations and advocates with the greatest needs, especially those in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
