We are currently seeking a Project Assistant to join Coglobal’s EC Programs team, which is responsible for making this initiative possible.

About the Role

As a project assistant, you will support the capacity-building programs delivered by Coglobal in coordination with People Powered. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the management of tools, training courses, mentorships, and other learning activities designed to enhance participatory agendas for governments and organizations in Europe. You will also contribute to the overall implementation of the project and the broader Coglobal strategy.

The position offers remote work arrangements, with the option of co-working with other staff members in Malaga, Spain. While the position is initially offered as full-time, we are open to negotiating and adapting working hours based on individual needs. We welcome applications from candidates located anywhere in Europe who have easy and frequent access to Malaga.

As Project Assistant we expect you to carry out the following tasks, among others:

  • Help create and maintain project documentation, presentations, communication content, and materials.

  • Help respond to and address inquiries and requests from program participants

  • Assist in project meeting coordination, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking

  • Support in tracking project progress, ensuring adherence to established schedules and deadlines.

  • Contribute to Coglobal’s general line of work on European programs.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in international project management for nonprofit organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience and/or interest in deliberative and participatory democracy.

  • Alignment with Coglobal’s mission and values.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in clear, compelling and accessible ways that translate well across languages and contexts.

  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability and desire to collaborate with people from diverse cultures, being mindful of and sensitive about cultural differences and power dynamics.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong computer skills, especially with Google workspace products.

  • Proficiency in Spanish and English. Proficiency in other European languages is not required, but desirable.

  • Proactivity and desire for further personal development in the field of EC-funded programs.

  • A flexible and growth-oriented mindset.

We understand that there are a wide variety of paths toward the skills necessary for the position. As such, there are no formal educational requirements, as long as the applicant can demonstrate proficiency in the desired skills. We do, however, value experience gained through educational programs.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual gross salary for this position is 30,000 euros. The standard Spanish job contract will be offered, which includes public healthcare, retirement plans, and a minimum of 23 working days of paid vacation. This normally implies 1 full week in Easter, 3 full weeks in Summer and 2 full weeks in Christmas. Coglobal’s work calendar is adjusted to account for local bank holidays in Malaga.

The Coglobal Team

You will be joining a small, yet supportive and dedicated team. We are guided by our core values of responsibility, equity, inclusion, enthusiasm, effort, and innovation.
