We just updated our digital participation platform ratings to both help you select the right platform and help developers identify ways to improve. An expert committee drew on a survey of more than 400 users in 50 countries to revise the ratings and add six new tools.
The ratings evaluate 32 of the best digital participation platforms. They offer guidance on toolbox platforms that support all types of participatory processes, specific platforms that focus on specific phases of participation, and specialty platforms designed for a particular kind of process, such as participatory budgeting.
The review committee evaluated platforms based on the following criteria:
Cost and support required to install and configure.
Available features.
Accessibility for diverse users, such as those with vision impairments.
Transparency of operations and ethical practices.
Track record and reliability.
If you’ve defined your needs, budget and internal capacity, then this information will allow you to compare the platforms within the category you need.
