Intern at People Powered (for pay)!

Our people-powered organization is growing! We’re hiring a paid program intern with strong skills in research, writing and use of related technology, and who is eager to contribute to the global movement for participatory democracy. The position can be full- or part-time, and will run from September through December, although we are flexible on the dates and there are possibilities to extend the position. The work location is remote and we welcome applications from candidates anywhere in the world.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and help prepare blog posts, case studies, reports, and other resource and communications materials.

  • Help create training curriculum and content for virtual and in-person training.

  • Support content management for online learning platforms.

  • Help facilitate and document virtual and in-person workshops, meetings and training sessions.

Desired experience, skills and strengths

  • Strong communications and writing skills.

  • Strong digital skills, including Google Workspace, and ideally Canva and video editing.

  • Interest in social justice and participatory democracy.

  • Experience in independently conducting online research related to issue areas.

  • Experience or interest in working with nonprofit organizations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in English. Proficiency in at least one other language is preferred.

  • Education: We understand there are a wide variety of paths towards the skills necessary for the position. Thus, there are no formal educational requirements, as long as the applicant can demonstrate mastery of the desired skills. We do, however, value experience gained through educational programs, including credits completed in related subjects.
