Applications for the 3rd cohort of the Rising Stars Mentorship are now open!
/Do you need help to launch or improve a participatory program? Apply for expert mentoring support!
Rising Stars is the online mentorship program from People Powered that connects you with expert guidance to launch and improve participatory programs. We match advocates, policymakers and program managers seeking guidance (mentees) to on-the-ground experts who can address questions (mentors).
Our mentors are ready to support you in using the Participation Playbook launched last week, an interactive online guide to help you successfully advocate for and implement a participatory program for your government or community.
Who is this program for?
Members of civil society organizations or coalitions who are supporting or advocating for public participation in policymaking or budgeting.
Local government staff members, officials and policymakers seeking to implement participatory programs for policymaking or budgeting.
How does the program work?
Prepare for the program. Participate in an online orientation session about the program’s goals and expectations, mentoring platform and resources offered.
Find a mentor or mentoring group. We assign you a mentor or mentoring group on our mentorship platform. Matching criteria include the type of participatory program, language, location, and challenges you need support with.
Meet your mentor or mentoring group. You schedule a call to discuss your challenges and decide on the goals you want to achieve through your mentorship. You have up to five calls with your mentor or mentoring group over the course of 12 months.
Get the confidence, knowledge and skills to run a more successful participatory program!
Who are our mentors?
We’ve carefully selected 26 mentors from 17 countries, and they’re ready to help. Read more about them.
Slots for mentees are limited, so act quickly and apply by October 21!
