The Laboratory of Public and Social Policies (LAPPUS), through the Luigi Bobbio Center for Studies in Deliberative Democracy, welcomes applications for the Program in Participatory Democracy: Return to Public Policies Built with the Population in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

At the end of the program, each participant will produce an article with recommendations to improve decision-making processes locally and in their countries of origin.
Students, researchers, activists, PB practitioners, public servants, and decision-makers are welcome to apply.
About LAPPUS: The Laboratory of Social and Public Policies (LAPPUS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005, based in Porto Alegre. Its main objective is to analyse and implement innovative public policies and to defend civil rights under the National Constitution. Since 2005, LAPPUS has implemented projects and conducted research in partnership with government and civil society, with a special focus on social participation, active urban mobility, and the environment. Understanding that better public policies will only take place with on-the-ground actions, LAPPUS is developing concrete measures to influence decision-makers. Some examples are: Bike School Project, Urban Green Gardens, and lawsuits promoting constitutional rights guarantees.
