The authors of two recently published books will join three other experts to discuss global trends in participatory budgeting.
The authors include three members of the Global PB Research Board, who wrote “Participatory Budgeting in Global Perspective”:
Brian Wampler, professor of global studies and political science at Boise State University.
Stephanie McNulty, professor of government at Franklin and Marshall College.
Michael Touchton, associate professor of political science at the University of Miami.
Joining them will be Matt Ryan, associate professor in governance and public policy at the University of Southampton. and author of “Why Citizen Participation Succeeds or Fails.”
Other commentary will be provided by Carla de Paiva Bezerra, researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and at Cebrap, and Maggie Shum, research and program associate of the Global Policy Initiative in the Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame. Moderating the discussion will be Paolo Spada, lecturer in comparative politics at the University of Southampton.
