Civic Engagement Lunch Talk: “Creating a Toolkit for Youth Democratic Action in Schools”

Learn how participatory budgeting (PB) has been implemented in schools throughout Chicago and how these experiences have shaped a participatory actions research process to create a new PB in Schools Toolkit.

The Toolkit was created through a collaboration of PB experts and Chicago Public School administrators and teachers. It will make PB easier to implement in schools across a wide variety of models and contexts.

Speakers: Thea Crum, UIC Great Cities Institute, Associate Director of Neighborhoods Initiative and Greg Smith, Civics Teacher, Hyde Park Academy
