Evaluating and Institutionalizing Representative Deliberative Processes

You are invited to join the academic launch of the OECD Evaluation Guidelines for Representative Deliberative Processes and the Eight Ways to Institutionalise Deliberative Democracy policy paper.

The OECD database has documented almost 600 examples of representative deliberative processes, over 100 since 2019 alone. The academic launch of two new publications from the OECD aims to invite critical reflections on how these processes can be meaningfully evaluated and institutionalized in today’s democracies.

The program features a 30-minute presentation from Claudia Chwalisz and Ieva Cesnulaityte of the OECD, followed by brief comments from Antonin Lacelle Webster (University of British Columbia), Felipe Rey (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia), and Su Yun Woo (University of Zurich).

This event is hosted by the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance (CDDGG) at the University of Canberra and Participedia. It will be moderated by Dr Nick Vlahos, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the CDDGG.
