You are invited to join the academic release of the OECD Evaluation Guidelines for Representative Deliberative Processes and the Eight Ways to Institutionalize Deliberative Democracy policy paper.
The OECD database documents almost 600 examples of representative deliberative processes, including over 100 that have been initiated since 2019 alone. The launch of these two new publications is designed to invite critical reflections on how these processes can be meaningfully evaluated and institutionalized in today’s democracies.
The program will feature a 30-minute presentation from Claudia Chwalisz and Ieva Cesnulaityte of the OECD, followed by brief comments from Melisa Ross (HU Berlin), Lucy J Parry (Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance and DemSoc) and Matt Ryan (Reforming Democracy).
This event is hosted by the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance at the University of Canberra and the Journal of Deliberative Democracy.
