Across the globe, dictatorships are on the rise, civil liberties are rapidly declining, and far-right political parties are quickly gaining traction and intensifying political polarization. The growing sense of exclusion and marginalization of youth is contributing to deep and enduring skepticism about whether democracy can work. In the eyes of many, democracy has failed to deliver on its promises of effective governance in regions and across the globe.
At the same time, young people are redefining democracy itself. This virtual conference will feature panels, allow for networking, and help propel a needed movement to center youth in the global fight for democracy. Note that you can attend sessions on any one of the three days.
