About the regional hubs:

In 2021 members of People Powered decided through PP Decides to create Regional hubs to expand participatory democracy. We started by piloting the ‘’Eastern Europe ’’ and ‘’Francophone Africa’’ Hubs.

The goal of the PP regional hubs is to help advance participatory democracy in different regions by … 

  • Organizing meetings and workshops to address region-specific challenges and opportunities

  • Creating and moving forward the resulting collective visions, action plans, and proposals for deepening participatory democracy 

  • Strengthening regional networks and integrating more organizations into People Powered and the hub.

About the coordinating organization

The current coordinating organization is IOPD Africa , which is based in Senegal, and the contact person is Khadim Rassoul Gueye (khadim@oidp-afrique.org). They will be reaching out to you with information about activities and projects of the hub.

About Hub Members

We invite you to learn about the individual and organizations members that belong to this hub through our directories. 

Communication channels

We have two communication channels — Google Group (we already added you!) and WhatsApp group, which you can join through this link.

All members of the hub are encouraged to:

  • Take initiative—share news, opportunities, or propose initiatives to work collectively. E.g. invite members to apply to funding or to work on projects together.  

  • Ask for support–ask questions, or request support, advice or feedback.

  • Help us grow the community— invite organizations or individuals that are doing great work in the space of PD in your region to apply to the People Powered membership
